1946

Pierin Piazzi, Valerio’s grandfather, took over a simple mountain lodge built by the town of Tesero to provide food and shelter for the woodcutters and farmers who went to the Pampeago alpine pastures during the summer haymaking season. About twenty years later, his sons carried on their father’s work, welcoming guests with homemade polenta, freshly picked mushrooms, and local cheeses to offer a moment of welcome and conviviality.

1960

As tourism began to flourish, the Pampeago alpine pastures welcomed an increasing number of visitors. Travelers and local workers found themselves sharing the same tables, creating a unique meeting of worlds. It was the beginning of a new way of experiencing the mountains and the first expression of a more open and welcoming Alpine hospitality.

1967

The construction of the ski slopes brought major changes to the area. When the municipality sold the lodge to a new company, Luigino and Giuseppina were forced to leave the mountain and return to the village. Yet their bond with Pampeago remained strong. Just two years later, they returned with their young son, Valerio, and embarked on a new chapter. What had once been a simple mountain refreshment stop gradually evolved into a restaurant and, eventually, a hotel.

1990 - Present

Through dedication, hard work, and a clear vision for the future, the small family-run inn grew into a welcoming hotel with forty comfortable rooms. Today, Valerio is joined by his wife, Ilaria, and their three daughters. Together, they continue a story built on hospitality, passion, and family values—honouring their roots while looking confidently toward the future.
